CSA

About this Project

CSA stands for Childhood Sexual Abuse. This project is exploring my journey in coming to terms with CSA. It feels vulnerable, raw, uncomfortable and at the same time completely necessary. This journey has opened up the doors to me of somatic experiencing, neuroplasticity and EMDR to navigate healing through Complex PTSD. The healing of sexual abuse is delicate, the wounds exist on a personal level, a familial level and a cultural level.

Explorations in the Research

SRCC VR

This project focuses on representing the poetry of sexual abuse survivors in a Virtual Reality (VR) environment. It offers an opportunity to co-create an immersive experience that brings poetry to life with dignity, depth, and authenticity, that fosters open communication and empathy. My goal is to create a Virtual Reality experience where survivor’s words can be witnessed, without distraction and with curiosity. I aim to create a location based VR experience that can facilitate a space to create conversation about the journey of healing through sexual abuse in hopes to create more awareness, empathy and support for survivors.
